The Tara National Park in the mountainous region of western Serbia was designated a national park in 1981. Another famous place of the region is the house in the middle of the Drina River near the town of Bajina Basta. The tiny wooden house has been standing on an exposed rock in the middle of the Drina River for more than 40 years, it was built by a group of young boys back in 1968 that used the rock to sunbathe.
